Reviews

Below are reviews written by many of my former students. Each review includes a title, the student's first name, the student's state (at least at the time of writing), and the date of the review's submission. Reviews are ordered by date (from most to least recent). I have had prospective students ask to get in touch with former students of mine, in an effort to hear directly about their experiences working with me, and I have no problem reaching out to former students. But I cannot guarantee a response from any individual former student.

"Solid tutor and very knowledgeable"

Shane did a great job preparing me for my LSAT with time constraints. I had 4 sessions with Shane and I felt significantly more confident. He forced me to prepare and taught me how to tackle specific questions with which I struggled. He is great at what he does!

"Great teacher and SO helpful for LSAT prep!!"

Shane was great to work with and always was very attentive during all of our lessons. He helped me consistently score 10+ points higher than I had been prior to starting lessons. I came to him initially for help with RC and later for LR. Before I started with Shane, I had completed a prep course for the April 2021 LSAT and received an okay score. I worked with Shane for 6 weeks for this past June LSAT; he really was able to help clarify and explain different methodologies in a clearer way. He’s very patient, so if you don’t understand a certain concept at first, he’s able to explain it in multiple ways to help you understand. I'd highly recommend him for anyone who’s prepping for the LSAT.

"Great LSAT tutor"

I had a great experience working with Shane. He was very helpful in pinpointing my strengths and weaknesses and creating lessons tailored to them. He also pointed me to other resources that greatly helped me improve my score. I also enjoyed the weekly personalized homework schedules to keep me on track. Before tutoring with Shane, I had been stuck at the same score, but after a few weeks of tutoring I started to see point increases. I am now almost at my target score!

"Personalized work load and great results!"

Shane provided me with the entirety of my LSAT training from textbooks to specialized drills nearing each of my LSATs (on which I scored 167 and 175 - respectively). I really appreciated his attention to my specific strengths and weaknesses. He provides individualized lesson plans with great structure! I highly recommend him if you want to improve your score and be competitive for top law school admissions.

"Honest & tailored approach"

I worked with Shane for several months and was able to bring my score up from a 154 on my diagnostic to a 170 on my first actual LSAT. Shane helped me structure my studying week by week, adapting to my skill level, targeting the concepts I struggled to grasp. He was extremely easy to reach, promptly answering any questions I had, regardless of whether I had a scheduled lesson with him at the time. Shane's honest and tailored approach to tutoring would in my mind be beneficial to anyone who is determined to do well. I could not recommend anyone more highly.

"Excellent LSAT tutor"

Shane is an excellent LSAT tutor. He brought my score up by 15 points - to a 170 on test day - something I would not have been able to do on my own. He created detailed study plans specific to what I needed help in and provided me with additional resources that I would not have found on my own. Any practice question I did not understand, Shane explained in a clear and logical manner. If you are looking for an LSAT tutor, I would highly recommend Shane.

"Kind, Professional & Invaluable"

It's difficult to know what resources and roads to follow when it comes to LSAT prep. Prior to working with Shane, I had been doing self-study that was largely without focus and left me oblivious to much. Shane was the exact person I needed to put me on the right track. He has an expertise and intimate knowledge of not only the ins and outs of the test and tricks of the trade, but also of how to prepare: the ways to structure your studying, how to measure and keep track of work, and how to manage the mental aspects of the test. My practice test scores improved markedly - up by 10 points - while working with Shane over the course of two months, using his drills and direction to help me improve my study. This would not have been possible without him, as prior to our lessons I had plateaued and felt completely stuck. I would recommend Shane to anyone seeking help on the LSAT, even and especially those who are already scoring well but want to take it to the next level. He is a kind, instructive, and receptive tutor; I am very grateful for his guidance.

"The LSAT Guru"

Shane is a true professional! He knows the LSAT backwards and forwards. If I even vaguely described a question, he would know immediately where it was and how to explain it. Shane is also incredibly talented at making personalized study plans to help you target your weak spots and see real results. I started with Shane with a 159-161, after taking a prep class, and ended in the high-160s (my goal) on my practice tests! I took the July LSAT-Flex and went on auto-pilot — I felt like I had total control over the test and how to approach the questions. I also feel like I have become smarter overall, thanks to Shane. Highly recommend!

"Organized, Patient & Knowledgeable"

I can speak for almost anyone who has worked with Shane when I say that he is an incredible tutor. One quality I really appreciate about Shane is how accommodating he is to a student's learning style. I am personally a slow learner and after our first lesson, I recognized that the pace of our lesson was too fast for me, so I emailed Shane about it... The next lesson he was able to teach in a way that worked best for me. This shows how attentive Shane is to students' learning needs. He is very knowledgeable about the LSAT and presents strategies in a clear way. I feel a lot more confident with the LSAT thanks to Shane. I highly recommend.

"Knowledgable & Helpful"

I worked with Shane for a few months leading up to my LSAT, and it was an incredibly helpful decision! I was scoring in the mid to high 160s on my practice tests, but Shane helped me develop new study techniques and testing strategies to get into the 170s. I would highly recommend reaching out to Shane if you are looking for a tutor who can answer specific questions about the LSAT but also develop holistic study habits to get consistent, improved results.

"Amazing LSAT tutor"

After only two lessons with Shane, my LSAT score improved by 3 points!!! If you're looking to improve your LSAT score, look no further: Shane is organized, attentive and patient. He identified my weak areas and helped me figure out why what I was doing was wrong. I was stuck at the same score for months and felt like giving up. I'm so happy I found Shane!

"Meticulous & Methodical"

Shane's approach to tutoring the LSAT has aligned very well with my needs. We are able to cover a wide range of material each lesson without it feeling overwhelming. He also communicates very clearly and effectively.

"Great guide to LSAT discipline"

I've been working with Shane for a couple of weeks now, and the experience has been beyond what I expected. Shane is not the "LSAT 180" tutor who references his own achievements in order to motivate students to be like him. Instead, when learning to see my strengths and weaknesses as an LSAT student, he ties in mistakes he himself made that mirror the cognitive error I may be making on a tough problem. Shane is kind, helpful, and more than prepared when it comes to his knowledge of the subject. I would recommend him to anyone who, like myself, has been anxious about even starting the process towards applying for law school simply because of these three numbers.

"Very effective at helping you reach your goals!"

A couple of weeks ago I started my lessons with Shane, as I found I was reaching the limits of my self-study for the LSAT. I was also hitting the wall and thought I had reached the height of my potential with the exam. Shane has been an incredible help, and since woking with him, I have seen my scores for the test consistently improve. In less than 3 weeks I jumped 10 points, and not only did my knowledge of the test improve, but also my self-confidence was bolstered. Shane will spend the necessary time to work through problems and reinforce the work you have done. His knowledge and patience will help you hone in on specific issues you most likely did not see, helping you get a boost to the score you desire. He is a great tutor; I cannot recommend him enough! Thank you so much!

"Insightful & Dedicated"

Shane is an outstanding tutor to whom I owe the utmost gratitude toward. Before I took my LSAT, I tried to self-study, and although conceptually I was gaining some knowledge, I lacked both the timing and holistic understanding that would be required in order to achieve a high score. Shane carefully assessed my position and tailor-made a schedule for me that targeted certain areas until my weaknesses became my strengths. Currently I am waiting for my November 2019 LSAT score to come in, and I can say with confidence that my score increased anywhere between 10-15 points since my September LSAT (150) two months prior. As long as you’re willing to put in the work, I have no doubt that Shane will guide you to achieve your goals. However, beyond the study plans, drills, etc., Shane above all is a dedicated tutor who truly cares about his students' success. Studying for the LSAT can be very stressful and you want good people around you, including a tutor who's dedicated, patient, and willing to spend the time and effort to help you succeed. Shane checks every box. I recommend him to anyone who wants to see their LSAT score increase dramatically.

"Very knowledgable about all things LSAT"

Shane was a really great tutor because he was able to focus on my specific weaknesses and struggles when it came to the exam and help me improve on those. He was great because of all the different resources he either recommended or provided - especially when it came to adjusting to the digital version of the LSAT. He also introduced test taking strategies that worked well for me, which was really helpful because many generic tutoring services have all their students prescribe to one type of strategy or one learning method, but Shane does not do that. He also implemented practice drills that would help me the most and helped me improve my score by 11 points on practice tests. He was always available to contact about questions through email and text. I highly recommend him because of his invaluable LSAT knowledge - particularly when it comes to formal logic.

"Patient & Understanding"

First off, Shane is the best tutor you can have when trying to study. I have serious test anxiety and Shane was very compassionate, consistently reminding me that all the hard work that I had put in would pay off, allowing me to achieve my target LSAT score. I had taken a course through my university before but the professor was quite cocky in his teaching and assumed after a certain point that I should know certain material… I NEVER got this type of attitude from Shane: he would literally spend time after time going over material as much as I needed to make sure that I had a clear understanding of what was in front of me. My confidence this time around when taking the November 2019 LSAT was much higher than before. He does not get frustrated if you are slow to understanding material and will give you homework to reinforce concepts. He would check up on me throughout the week and was always available - even on Sunday when he was not tutoring. It just showed me that he wants his students to pass and feel good about taking any test they need to take. 10/10 would recommend for anyone who is uneasy about the test they need to take. Best tutor I've had.

"Flexible, Insightful & Disciplined"

Shane the framework that helped me increase my score in my final months of studying for the LSAT. We created a plan that made sense for my schedule and included regular check-ins to smooth out any bumps along the way. Shane's style is to keep a quick pace through questions so you get the most of your session. At the same time, he is willing to slow down and go back over fundamentals and create recommendations based on your weaknesses. Having weekly sessions with him encouraged me and helped me maintain discipline throughout the process. Shane was also able to identify areas for growth that were not obvious through the process of review. I would highly recommend Shane - whether you are months away from your test or in your final weeks.

"1,000,000 out of 10 Stars"

Let me start by saying that if you are looking for the perfect LSAT tutor, look no further. Shane is not only knowledgeable regarding the LSAT but also personable, working with you through every issue, keeping himself accessible even on his day off. When I came to Shane in July, I was scoring in the low 150s on my practice tests from May to July without much direction whatsoever. I had taken the LSAT twice - scoring 145 both times. This time I was aiming for the October LSAT and set a target score of 160. Shane got me to a 164 timed practice test score and helped me hit close to my goal or above on many of my practice tests. I had the opportunity to work with Shane in person since I was in such close proximity; he worked with me very well by breaking down each question with me, fixing my weaknesses and fortifying my strengths. He would also call me from time to time outside of lessons to check in with me and worked around my schedule. He is worth every penny. I would recommend him to anyone looking to succeed on the LSAT. I also did a couple of online lessons with him as well and can say he is just as clear and helpful online as he is in person. I am very thankful I found Shane and you will be too if you use him!

"Knowledgable & Insightful"

I cannot recommend Shane enough for LSAT test-takers looking for a tutor to help them push past score barriers. I originally scored a 169 on the LSAT, and given my goals for law school acceptances, I wanted to bring that score to above 170. Shane provided me the resources to do that as we worked together for 6 weeks to key in on my errors and polish up my test-taking so that I wasn't leaving points on the table. After 4 weeks, I scored a 177 on a practice test and just took the official LSAT. I left the LSAT confident I scored between 172-178. Thanks, Shane!

"So helpful in the final push of my studies!"

I was only 2 weeks away from taking my LSAT and decided to schedule a lesson with Shane. It was incredibly helpful; I am so glad I did it. He gave me great resources that were new to me at the time, expert study and performance tips, and motivation for the final weeks of study. Shane is worth every dollar!

"Great LSAT tutor"

Shane has been by far the best LSAT tutor I have come across. He was very helpful from the onset of lessons, providing me with extra materials. As a student scoring on the lower end of the scale, I found Shane exceeded expectations of getting me where I needed to be to feel fully prepared for the exam. He was very patient with me during the several weeks we worked together and kept me motivated throughout. I am so glad I found him and would highly recommend!

"Knowledgeable, Helpful, & Motivating"

When I first began LSAT lessons with Shane, I was in a lull, feeling unmotivated and defeated after several weeks of self-study in preparation for the July 2019 test. However, after just one lesson, during which Shane identified and explained some of my primary issues, I felt reinvigorated and motivated to continue – especially given the study schedule he formulated. After several lessons, not only did I improve my conceptual understanding, but I also felt more confident in my testing ability. Although my July score wasn’t as high as I had hoped for, I continued my work with Shane in preparation for the September 2019 test. Again, Shane was instrumental in keeping me on track, and with more time to prepare, I saw a drastic increase in my overall score. I felt much more confident and prepared to tackle the test headed into September... I highly recommend you hire Shane as a tutor: he is incredibly professional and knowledgeable, and his mastery of the material is invaluable. His unwavering dedication to his students is also inspiring; he continually helped me overcome periods of frustration, renew my focus going into test day, and understand difficult concepts through in-depth analysis.

"Patient tutor who can help in wide strokes or with minutia"

Shane says he usually works with students earlier in their process than I, and he has developed a nice set of tactics to teach beginners. As a student with higher scores, farther along in my LSAT journey, I've benefited from Shane's insight into smaller issues that are harder to see when you are too close to the issue at hand. His specially developed way of looking at and dividing LR can function as a nice change of perspective and possibly, as it has for me, aid in further understanding of these specific problem areas.

"Ability to spot gaps in understanding"

Shane has been absolutely amazing. I was wary about the online platform, but he really takes the time to make sure you’re comfortable with the process, preparing well ahead of the tutoring session. He has an AMAZING ability to spot gaps in understanding and seeks to address them and then strengthen that foundation. I have had a handful of lessons with him in preparation for the LSAT and am so glad I found him.

"Shane will help you reach your goals!"

Shane was a great tutor to get me ready for the LSAT! He took my goals seriously, and each class I took away many tips and tricks. I loved the fact that he was attentive to my questions and would plan a class to target my weaknesses. He went above and beyond, providing me with extra study sheets and guides, which gave me the extra help I needed. I felt he really cared about my improvements and success. He was also intelligent, organized and professional. He'd often explain hard concepts in a relatable and learnable way. If you are looking for a tutor, Shane is a great pick.
